Road Anxiety: How To Manage It And Get Back On The Road Again

Would you like to experience the world of driving without stress?

Just knowing what to do can make all the difference. Roads can be enjoyable when you know how to properly manage your anxiety.

Have you ever had a panic attack while on the road?

Have you ever made a decision to change your usual route to avoid a specific area you were not comfortable driving through, or found yourself abandoning your day plan or trip because you suddenly felt too overwhelmed on the road and felt like you could not handle it? If so, you’re not alone. In fact, we all have those moments where we feel like the world is closing in on us and are unable to cope with the situation at hand.

Road anxiety can happen to anyone at any time on their drive. It’s not your fault. You didn’t cause it, nor unfortunately can you prevent it from happening again. But what you can do is learn how to manage it so that you can drive with confidence and calm again. We believe in creating a world where the act of driving is a stress-free experience for everyone.

Psychological counseling and driving reintegration program is a comprehensive treatment program designed to address driving (and riding) anxiety and prepare the client to return to the road. This program is offered by professional driving instructors with support from mental health professionals and includes assessments, in-person counseling sessions, and behind-the-wheel (or passenger) training on the road. During the evaluation, a mental health professional will assess the client’s symptoms and make an individualized treatment plan, followed by the counseling sessions, where clients will learn new coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and relaxation techniques to help manage their anxiety. The driving reintegration portion follows the client's pace, so the instructor will work with the client to identify goals and focus on the skills that need the most improvement.

When you complete the program, we ensure that

you will have the skills and confidence

needed to drive safely again.
